"A Child

will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, home happier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for."

3rd Nephi 17:21-23 "And when he had said these words, he wept, and the multitude bare record of it, and he took their little children, one by one, and blessed them, and prayed unto the Father for them. And when he had done this he wept again; And he spake unto the multitude, and said unto them; Behold your little ones.."

Crazy!

I know I haven't posted forever, which is so unlike me....hehe... But our computer came down with a bad virus (like the rest of us!) and I just got it back up and working last night. I am still trying to re-download all my programs I had on before, we had to wipe out the main drive...or something like that. Anyway...the kitchen is back in working order, except the Dishwasher and maybe that will be in working order by Sunday....I am kind of spoiled and I HATE dishes (always have, ask my mom!)hehe....so I am really looking forward to having my dishwasher fixed. I love my new tile, even better than the last time, Rhett did an awesome job getting it all back together. I am so grateful he is learning (not so much liking, but learning) how to do all this home repair stuff. Thanks babe, Sorry I was such a bear with everything all ripped up! I am also super grateful for my brother Brady, who lives here so when things break down he can figure out how to fix it. He has been the fix it guy this month between my house and Kayla's sister's house! Thanks Brady! You saved us once again! Love you!!! I promise...I will post new pictures soon!

Happy Birthday Uncle B....

Okay so I am a few days behind...I have great intentions!!!lol...Dec 2nd was Rhett's brother Brenan's birthday....I wanted to just say a few words about this guy! He is AWESOME!!! If I could of ever had the choice to NOT be the oldest child and HAD an older BROTHER...this guy would of been my pick! Becoming married Rhett gave me 5 older brothers who I love all dearly, but for some reason Bren is my go to big brother!! He is easy to talk to an super NON judgemental and I really am glad he is my big bro..even if it is by marriage! He is such a great support and example to our little family and we don't know what we would do without him! Thanks B for being who you are!!! Hope you had a great day!

Check your DISHWASHERS!!!

Who KNEW!!! I discovered last tuesday a little water puddle in the basement which lead to this....

This is the basement ceiling just at the seem from the stairs....YUCK!!! and stink!!!!

yes...I FREAKED!!!! Called Brady...couldn't get a hold of Rhett! So Brady came up and decided we needed to check the dishwasher because of the location of water damage in the basement. So we did that and found mold (I need to download that picture..it is on my other camera). We decided to leave it all and go on our Thanksgiving Vacation and just rip into when we got home...well, we are now home and Brady has ripped into IT and this is what else we FOUND.....

before...we keep ripping up tile and lanolium until we found dry floor.... :(

after

Yes! Water damage clear to the pantry door!!! Not kidding!! Unbelievable! And the kicker is Home owners insurance does NOT cover water damage done by a slow leak!!! NOPE and it also does not cover MOLD or TERMITES! (check your policies...!) Hummmm wonder what it does cover? I know I sound bitter, but really! Not all accidents are found right away, like I wanted my kitchen to be crap right before the holiday's! Hello! Oh Well! So yes! This is our out of pocket kitchen makeover... in freaking DECEMBER!!!!.sounds like fun ~ A! Thanks also to Uncle Jay (again!) for getting us the mold stuff to put on the wood!

my two year old tile floor all in pieces...in the trash.... :( it's laugh or cry and right now I am so not in the mood to laugh!!!

Yes...I know! And to think this all came from a little drip drip on the bottom of the dishwasher..we have NO idea how long it has been dripping. Therefore...I get a new kitchen floor for Christmas..the only bummer about it all is we get to put all the old stuff back in....as my friends keep reminding me it could be worse! I know that but really .... December....why can't this ever...EVER happen in JUNE!!!! On the first day of christmas my true love gave to me.....
Thanks Brady! For saving us ONCE again!!!! I don't know what we would do with out you!!!
So we have NO sink, dishwasher or STOVE!!! We do have a make shift kitchen in the front living room, a pancake grill, a toaster oven, a crockpot, microwave, rice steamer and a BBQ'r...I guess we will be okay.....(still doesn't make me want to laugh about it!) Thanks Robyn for the Pizza! I have awesome friends!
I am going to bed now...I have a serious headache!

Happy Birthday Mandy!!

My sister Mandy's birthday was yesterday (Nov 30th) and I just really quickly wanted to tell her HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I know she is not liking the other end of the world right now and misses the WEST (is Best!lol) a LOT!! However! She is a super strong gal and is doing her best to make it okay! (she better :) I just wanted her to know I love her lots and miss her even more! Thanks for being such a great sister and an even better friend! I have pictures of the 4~wheeling trip the Jackson crew took on friday, I will get them blogged soon....pretty cool...

Thanksgiving in Kanab at Lances. We arrived right on time! It snowed on us from Marysville Canyon all the way to the Sand Dunes...then RAIN!!! Lots of rain! It was a fun day filled with yummy food, after dinner naps, a game of basketball, a sit in the Jaccusi...did I mention nap...? LOL...I read "Twilight" but I will save my opionion on that for another post. It was a good day! Then we headed to Valley to stay at mom and dad's only to find that the heater wasn't working....47 deg in the house!!!! So we bundled the kids up with blankets and they really slept pretty good....mom has an electric blanket on their bed and I actually got HOT! :) Go figure! Then the next morning we found the reset button (a big black one right in the front after you take off the bottom panel) incase this happens to anyone else! Then I made dinner for Grandma and Grandpa Smokey. Cody and his family came over (Ang had to work :( it was fun...the surprising part (for those of you who know grandpa) he not only stayed for about 4 1/2 hours and ate 3 pieces of pie....but was in a really good mood! Something to be thankful for right there! LOL!
Jentrie and Syd being silly, Darren adding to the sillyness....Grandma and Grandpa enjoying dinner, Peyton, Peyton and Grandpa are buddies, Shaylee and her nice hand, the crew...we are missing WAY to MANY members of OUR family!!! We miss you way LOTS!!! The kids testing the frosting for the sweet rolls, up close and personal with grandpa smokey...(I am not sure who took this picture but I thought it was a good one.) Grandma and Grandpa in front of their house on a beautiful Sunday afternoon ( Nov. 30th)
It was an eventful weekend!!! Next we went Christmas tree hunting up on the Kiabab...but....there was a little (or big...it sounded BIG) glich in the way.....the drive line in our suburban went out..yes O..U..T! We were stuck by three lakes and Rhett had to hitch a ride into Kanab...which drove Dallin CRAZY (because hitching is dangerous!) However....Uncle Cody and Uncle Jay saved the DAY!!! (thanks dad for having me call uncle Jay when I couldn't get ahold of Cody!) Even though Cody found us and it all worked out and it only cost us a few hours and $20.00! Whew! I am so grateful for my family members who know so MUCH random stuff!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!~ Off to the Kiabab (only 3 hours behind schedual) to find our Blue Spruce! It's a keeper!

The Kiabab has a bit of snow! The kids loved it! Look at Peyton's face!!! PRICELESS!

Being Thankful!....

Every year on the Sunday before Thanksgiving...I make our little family our own Thanksgiving Dinner. Before dinner I asked them each what they were thankful for and it couldn't be the just the regular...(family and friends) it needed to be something they were thankful for this year.....here are their responses...

Dallin - I am thankful for this food because I am really hungry....I am thankful because I was baptized this year and I am thankful for our house that has heat in it....(and my family)
(For those of you who read Dallin's instructions on how to cook a turkey....the 1 cup of glass is really meant to say 1 cup of GLAZE!!! LOL to funny!
1 cup glass
1 cup cranberry stuffing
2 1/2 c. rossted almns
salte and peper, by the turkey, cook it for 30 minutes.)

Jentrie....I am thankful that I finally got to have a Barbie for my birthday! (and my family)

Valerie...I am thankful for grandma and grandpa McDonald and for them to move home. :) (you can tell what she is thinking about) I am thankful for my dinner and for my house and toys

Peyton....he just wants to eat the Turkey....:)

Daddy....first he said he was thankful for me for making such a nice dinner, next his job and our home....then of course....FAMILY

Mom.....I am thankful for Rhett and his Job also..so many being out of work makes teaching school (and being 10 year'd) a blessing!!! Also I am thankful his job has insurance!! (so many anymore don't) I thankful for my freedom and for those who serve our country so we can have that freedom. I am thankful that Brady was able to make it home safe from Iraq once again. I am thankful for my house that has running water and heat. I am thankful for my good friends that help me want to be better. I am also thankful for my family...that includes my husband and children....my mom and dad who I miss EVERY day, my brother's and sister. My in - laws who are great, and Rhett's brothers and their families. I am thankful for my health! For the Gospel and for My Testimony! Hey I am a blessed lady! ( I had to stop because Dallin was getting peeved that I was taking to long and he wanted to eat! :) Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!! We love and miss you all!!!!
